From classic hostas to new introductions, from miniature hostas to giants, our hosta collection has something for everyone.

Our Garden Nursery in West Yorkshire is devoted to Hostas and in our Website you will find something to appeal to everyone, from the hosta beginner to the serious collector.

Our Catalogue lists over 450 hosta species and cultivars, including old favourites, classics and an exciting range of newer introductions. Around 350 of these are planted in our garden, so we can give you first-hand information about these plants.

We particularly specialise in miniature and very small hostas, offering around 100 miniature and 70 very small hostas, some rare and hard to find.

Thank you for visiting our Website. Enjoy your hostas!

Visiting our Garden Nursery

Just email us (hostas @sueproctorplants.co.uk) or ring us on 07917 006636 or 07817 1320 to fix a day and time for your visit.  All visitors are offered a cuppa and biscuits. A toilet is available. If you are looking for specific hostas please let us know so that we can make sure they are there for you. If you just want to browse our stock that’s fine. Our Garden Nursery contains over 500 hostas planted in a variety of settings –  Borders, Beds, Pots, Troughs, Gravel Garden, Rockery and ‘Living Wall’.

For those with mobility problems our garden is sloping but steep sections and steps have handrails. It is possible to reach the top of the garden without negotiating steps.

Mail Order Service

Some customers have asked whether we might resume our mail order service. Unfortunately this is not possible since our current stock is not large enough to sustain the likely demand.

Hosta Highlights

Our Hosta Catalogue

Our Catalogue has several features that make it easy for you to find the hosta(s) you want.

You can search by size (Giant, Miniature etc.), by leaf colour and by frequently requested characteristics, e.g. white flowered hostas, scented hostas, red stemmed, slug resistant and sun-tolerant hostas.

Most hostas listed are accompanied by a photograph to make choosing easy. Clicking the plant’s photo reveals more information on the plant, extra photographs, where available, and the option to add plants to the new shopping cart.

When you submit your order through our Website we receive an email to which we will respond within 48 hours confirming your order. See our Ordering page for more information.
